Getting to Belgrade city centre
The city centre is where most first visits begin: the Knez Mihailova pedestrian street, Republic Square, the Kalemegdan fortress above the river, Skadarlija’s cobbled street of taverns and the old quarter of Dorćol stretching down to the Danube. Almost every hotel and apartment a tourist books sits within a fifteen-minute walk of this spot.
From the airport it is a straight run: the A1 motorway, the Gazela bridge over the Sava and the climb up Brankova into the old town. Outside rush hour the car reaches Republic Square in under half an hour; on a weekday afternoon the bridge adds ten to fifteen minutes.

Why book ahead for Belgrade city centre
Old-town streets are easier for a driver who knows them
Many apartments in Dorćol and around Skadarlija are on one-way or pedestrian streets. Give us the exact address and the driver takes you to the door, not the nearest corner.
A late landing changes nothing
The last buses to the centre thin out after 23:00 and the voucher taxi queue is longest when several flights land together. A booked car is reserved in your name at the daytime fare.
The price you pay the driver is the one you saw
You see the fare in dinars and euros before you confirm; the driver charges exactly that at your door, in cash — nothing in advance.
Taxi voucher or booked transfer to Belgrade city centre
The airport taxi kiosk prints a fixed voucher fare for this part of the city. Here is what each option gets you.
| Taxi voucher | AirGo transfer | |
|---|---|---|
| When you learn the price | 3.000 RSD, up to 4 passengers | from 2.800 RSD, known the day you book |
| Finding your ride | Kiosk, then the taxi rank outside | The driver waits for you in arrivals |
| If the flight is late | Not relevant — you join the rank when you arrive | We track the flight and move the pickup |
| The ride back to the airport | No voucher; a street taxi on the meter | Same fixed price in both directions |
| A 4 a.m. departure | Whatever is available at that hour | A car reserved in your name, no night surcharge |

Good to know before you ride
-
Most old-town hotels have no car park in front. Tell the driver the hotel name and they stop where the bellboy can reach you.
-
Flying out at dawn? Book the return at the same time: a 04:30 pickup from the centre costs the same as a daytime one.
-
Travelling as four or five with luggage? One car still fits you — see the fare rules for extra passengers and bags before you book.
