Getting to Vračar

Vračar is the smallest municipality in Belgrade and the one visitors most often choose to stay in: tree-lined streets of pre-war buildings, Kalenić market, cafés on Njegoševa and Beogradska, the Temple of Saint Sava at its centre and Slavija square at its edge. It is residential, walkable and ten minutes from the old town.

From the airport it is the far side of the centre, so the ride takes a little longer than to Republic Square. The driver comes up through Slavija or around by the Autokomanda interchange, depending on the traffic that hour.

Good to know before you ride

  • Many Vračar streets are one way and parking is tight; give the driver the entrance number and they stop right there.

  • Add fifteen minutes to the ride between 16:00 and 18:30 on weekdays, when Slavija and Autokomanda are at their busiest.

  • A market morning at Kalenić is worth an early arrival — the driver can drop you there first and your luggage at the apartment after, as a second stop.
